- What is a traditional Turkish hammam?
- A hammam is a bathing house built around a central heated marble platform, surrounded by domed chambers, arches and small alcoves with marble basins. The rhythm of the visit — warmth, water, rest — is one of the oldest bathing traditions in Anatolia. See the ritual step by step.
- What is included in the price?
- Every hammam package includes unlimited time in the hot room, sauna and steam room, a full-body scrub, a traditional foam wash, a face mask and refreshments; the pestemal, towel, bathrobe and slippers are ready for you. Keyf-i Hammam adds body care and a foam massage, and Sultan adds a private suite and an extended foam massage. Every package includes free hotel pickup and return anywhere in Cappadocia (Pir-u Pak: for 2 or more guests). Each package page lists its full contents.
- Do I need to bring anything?
- Everything you need is ready for you: a traditional pestemal, towel, bathrobe, slippers and the personal-care essentials for your ritual. Lockable changing lockers are available, and you are welcome to bring swimwear if you prefer.
- How long does a visit take?
- The treatment time is 50, 60, and 70 minutes, depending on the package. Your time in the hot room, sauna and steam room is unlimited and comes on top of it. Massages last 30, 60, and 90 minutes.
- Can I combine a massage with a hammam package?
- Yes. You can begin with a hammam ritual and continue with a massage. Tell us both when you book and we plan them one after the other.
- Can couples receive their treatments side by side?
- Yes. Couples can enjoy the ritual side by side. Private halvet washing rooms with curtained entrances are available for a more discreet shared experience; tell our team when you reserve so the right arrangement can be confirmed.
- How is privacy arranged for women and men?
- If you let us know when you book, we can prepare a private area for women. In the shared areas each party is given its own time, so you share the space only with the people you came with. Bathrobes are worn in the common relaxation areas.
- Can I request a female or male therapist?
- Yes — choose a female or male therapist; simply tell us your preference when you book. Female and male attendants (natır and tellak) are on duty at every hour of the day, and every one of our therapists is certified.
- How old is Alaaddin Hamam?
- Built in 1202 to support Avanos's Alaaddin Mosque, this 800-year-old historic Turkish hammam was restored in 1726 and faithfully restored again in 2024. It is registered in the Turkish Cultural Inventory (Kültür Envanteri no. 411355).
- What are your opening hours?
- Open every day 09:00–23:00 · we welcome our last guests at 23:00.
- Who are your therapists?
- Our team brings together Turkish therapists and therapists who came to us from Bali, Indonesia. Each is a certified specialist in their craft, and they continue to train while they are with us — in occupational safety, first aid and health. Their certificates can be seen at the hammam.
- Does Alaaddin Hamam have private rooms?
- Yes. Private rooms are available for guests who want a completely exclusive and discreet hammam or massage experience. The Sultan package includes a private VIP suite for you or you and your partner.
- How does the complimentary transfer work?
- Every package includes complimentary hotel pickup and return anywhere in Cappadocia, including hotels in Göreme and Uçhisar (Pir-u Pak: for 2 or more guests). Share your hotel and preferred time when you book.
- How do I pay for my visit?
- Reserve by WhatsApp — pay at the hammam. Share your preferred date and time and our team confirms your visit; you pay at reception when you arrive. Credit cards are accepted, and cash in Turkish lira, euros, US dollars or pounds sterling.
- How do I reserve a visit?
- The most direct way to reserve is by WhatsApp using the reservation button on this website. You may also call or email the hammam directly.
- What kind of experience is the hammam?
- The Turkish hammam is a cultural bathing tradition built around warmth, water and rest. Local stories tell of the historic well beneath the building. If you are pregnant or under a doctor's care, tell us when you book so we can plan the visit with you.
- Where exactly is the hammam located?
- The hammam is in the Orta neighbourhood of Avanos, within the wider Cappadocia region of Türkiye. Full directions are provided on the Plan Your Visit page. Many guests know us as Aladdin Hammam.
- Where is the best Turkish bath in Cappadocia?
- That depends on where you are staying and what you want from the visit. Alaaddin Hamam is an 800-year-old bathhouse in Avanos, in the middle of the region, built in 1202 and faithfully restored in 2024. - Is there a hammam near Göreme?

- Can I visit the hammam from Ürgüp, Uçhisar or Ortahisar?

- Is there parking at the hammam?

- Can children come to the hammam?
- Yes. Children under 16 are welcome with a parent and receive a 50% discount on all services — hammam packages and massages.
- How accessible is the entrance?
- There are four or five steps at the entrance — tell us when you book and we will help you.
- Can I come early in the morning?
- Yes. Tell us one day ahead and we can open early, between 05:00–08:00.
- When is the best time to visit a hammam in Cappadocia?
- The evening, after a day on the valleys and the rock sites. Most guests come between late afternoon and closing, and that is also when the bathhouse is at its most comfortable in summer.
