Visiting a Hammam After a Cappadocia Tour
Why the traditional Turkish bath is the most fitting close to a long day among the valleys, churches and underground cities of Cappadocia.

A full day in Cappadocia is a physical one. You walk the valleys, climb rock-cut staircases and go down into underground cities on foot, and by late afternoon the body feels every step.
The Turkish hammam is the traditional way to end a day like that. You lie on the heated göbek taşı, water is poured over your shoulders by hand, and breathing slows.
Time your reservation for the late afternoon or early evening. Arrive from your tour, change without hurry, and let the building do its work.
The next morning the region feels different. That has long been the hammam's part in Cappadocia hospitality.
